COMMUNITY

Mt Fyans Wind Farm is working with local community to help develop the project.

In 2018 a Community Engagement Committee was appointed as a reference group for the project. The group includes representatives from Moyne Shire Council and local community groups.

Engagement and consultation with neighbours and key stakeholders is a pivotal component of the project development and delivery.

Benefit Sharing Program

Woolnorth Renewables has developed a Benefit Sharing Program to support the local community and provide a long-lasting legacy in the area.

Benefit sharing is a proven means of integrating renewable energy developments into local communities in ways that are positive, rewarding and beneficial for both project proponents and local communities.

The project will focus on near neighbours within four kilometres of a constructed wind turbine, while a community fund will share the benefits more broadly with the Mortlake community.

Mt Fyans Wind Farm has also been working with local services and have contributed $50,000 to the Mortlake Recreation Reserve to build an all-weather emergency helicopter landing area.

The funding has assisted with patient transfers by allowing emergency helicopters to land on a new hard surface at the Mortlake Recreation Reserve
